Meet Rachel
Born and raised in the flat prairies lands of Saskatchewan was Rachel Rohde. A quiet, introverted child with an endless imagination and a love of Mary Poppins, and that love still exists. At 12 years old she had a dream, to become a published author. But life and practicality soon took over as went to college to get a degree and pursue a career working with children. Rachel Rohde has been working in childcare for over 7 years. Her creativity and natural connection with children have shaped both her work and writing. Life and self doubt soon took the drivers seat and her dream took a backseat. But after years of working in childcare she is now pursuing her dream, working towards the publication of her debut novel.
Rachel Rohde writes books that are filled with endless wonder and imagination. Stories that curl around the heart, for both the child reading and the adult who never stopped wondering. She writes across all ages from the youngest explorers, navigating the world on wobbly feet to the young adults desperate to hold onto the wonder and magic of childhood as they navigate the world and their new responsibilities.
When she’s not writing, Rachel enjoys traveling with her family, travelling to fictional destinations and organizing her bookshelves. She has a penchant for the color purple and will never say no to watching Mary Poppins. Rachel has travelled to every single province in Canada but dreams of travelling to England and Norway.
